Specialized Command Post BlackLite
On every trail, whether littered with technical descents, grinding climbs, or smooth rolling sections, Specialized's Command Post BlackLite lets you attack. It controls your seat height with the flick of a handlebar-mounted lever so you can maintain your flow at all times. There are three positions to choose from: up for climbing; down for jumping and steep descents; and a middle height when you need to pedal, but you want extra maneuverability too. The seatpost is sealed for reliability, and is controlled by a standard derailleur cable.

Excellent construction and reliability. Been running it continuously for about a yr with 0 issues. A coated cable works best imo. I used 1 and its buttery smooth.The best dropper I've has to date.

So some comment that is loses air while riding. I have never experienced that in the 12 months I have owned it. I would say of all the dropper posts i have owned this one has needed the least amount of maintenance of all of them. i would say yearly to pull it apart grease the internals and replace the seals. They are all bound to eventually have problems and lack of maintenance only makes this happen faster. The major advantages to this over other posts is the mechanical lock out. when other posts fail on the trail you are stuck with a post in the down position. With this post you can pull it up and lock it in one of the 3 positions and continue your ride.

Zero problems with mine so far (6 months). I have several friends who also have them, no problems there either. I did buy mine NIB in 2013, so maybe some of the problems are on older versions?

I had been reasonably happy with my Command Post, mounted on a Carbon Camber, until it just lost all air, and failed to hold air after that. This was about 18 months into owning the post, and I don't ride that often (I might average out to once a week, at best). It is out of warranty, so I'm not out a post, which is really disappointing since it's clearly a product failure vs. due to a crash or mistreatment or other. A friend also had his fail, and several others at the shop I go to have had them fail similarly. Thus, while the post works fairly well when air is good, I would not buy one of these. When it is working, it also has the downside that there is no damping on the return, so when you release the level to let the post come back up, it flies up fast if you aren't sitting on it. I would stay seated on it to avoid this, but that is not always convenient.

This post was easy to set up. The 3 setting work fine. However the post loses air. Long rides it gets to the point were the seat post will not raise back up. Luckly you can put the seatpost back up and it will stay at that setting
