The Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Elite 29 is packed with shred-worthy suspension and components. Its light M5-aluminum frame is mated to the legendary FSR suspension system for super efficient climbing, while the 130mm of buttery travel front and rear lets you attack the descents with unmatched voracity. Fox supplies the Float CTD Evolution rear shock and RockShox paves the way out front with the outstanding Pike RC. 29-inch Roval wheels rail corners, while a flawless XTR rear derailleur and powerful Shimano discs give you the control to pin the A line. Plus, you get a whole spread of Specialized's stellar parts, like the Command Post dropper for efficient climbing and rowdy, seat-dropped descents, and grippy Purgatory and Ground Control tires.

Did a lot of research before graduating to a 29er. Finally, decided on my stumpy elite. Most others have on the fly suspension that you can control at your fingertips, but instead I got the "brain". The bike just does the work. For a Florida rider this bike is the champ. I can stay with any of my friends and can take turns pretty comfortable as well as climb over boulders, or get some air time any chance I get. Wish they would've stayed with the Talas forks. Over all I like to test the waters so I'm really glad I got this bike.

upgraded from a 2007 stumpjumper comp ht and this beast of a bike gives you the ability to conquer any trail. its has solid suspension (brain), its super light, and it handles perfectly. the only cons i see is with the command post... it does not always lock properly so you end up dropping all of a sudden to the lower position when you sit down.

I have a 2013 Stumpy Elite 29 and have been very happy with this bike. Moved up from the comp 29 model to get my hands on that Brain technology. One BIG difference between the 13 and 14 model years is they no longer equip the bike with a Talas fork which is a bit surprising. I put a set of the Traverse 29 wheels on my bike and it made a huge improvement, these rims should be standard on this bike at this price point. I plan on riding this thing into the ground, then move up to the Expert.

I stepped up from my Gary Fisher 2.0 26er and snatched up one of these StumpJumper FSR Elites 29er. To be honest, I was not excited about going to a 29er but it seemed the right thing to do if I was gonna shell out the money. I.Love.It! Just got back from Fruita. We rode the 18road trails and my Stumpy killed it! This FSR is much more rigid then I expected and was definently engineered for the beating I was giving it. Huge jumps, large drops and all the techy rock stuff you could take, and the bike ate it up. Good job Specialized. Im so high on this bike because I have destroyed evey MTB ive ever owned multiple times. I would suggest to someone who wants to race on this bike to get the Epic instead..although light for its size and rigid enough, the Stumpjumper belongs on the slopes and in the air. Best suspension ive ever road.

Demo from Cutter's in Pa. Rode exceptionally on all terrain and was very efficient climber. Adjustability using the brain settings was a major plus.
